Brexit and the pandemic didn’t just shake borders—they deepened divides. Prejudice has grown louder, threatening the connections that make communities thrive. At Pangea, a café founded by an immigrant and inspired by global cultures, we believe coffee can bridge those divides.
We confronted bias by introducing a menu of lifeless drinks and pastries, with absurdist humor highlighting how much cultural influences shape the coffee community.
Bias is ugly. Prejudice tastes worse. Let's keep them off the menu.

THE EXPERIENCE
For one special weekend, customers could order from The Bigot Menu. The goal was to spark self-awareness by voicing these strange items and recognizing the absurdity behind them.
Don't worry, we served the equivalent item on the usual menu since The Bigot Menu is purely satire. That said, customers were asked to turn the menu over and focus on how Pangea Café celebrates diversity by using ingredients from all over the world to honor culture in the coffee community.
